More Still frame Animation Tips
For this final assignment, I chose to make a still frame animation using toy cars. The easiest part of the whole assignment (though the longest) was taking the pictures. Unfortunately, I don't have access to a tripod so there was some camera shake. I did manage to reduce the amount of shake by steadying the camera underneath me with some books.
The hardest part of the assignment for me would probably be the time constraints I forced myself into because I didn't manage my school time well this semester at all.
To anyone that would want to make the same type of animation, I would give you three pieces of advice:
GET A TRIPOD! Seriously, it will DRAMATICALLY improve the quality of the still motion animation.
Give yourself lots of time. Because I had so little time to complete this assignment, I was forced to cut out a lot of stuff that I had wanted to add to the film.
And finally, since this type of still frame animation is fast paced, with lots of motion, take as MANY pictures as possible. You can easily look up some really crappy youtube animations where they used barely any pictures, and it looks really choppy. The more pictures you take, the smoother it flows and thus the more realistic it looks.
Anyways, I had fun on this course. Hope you all did too!
