Joey buys a lottery ticket After an unusually busy day at Tim Horton's, Joey is rather tired and walks home in his uniform. He notices Sanjay's car outside the gas station on his way home and stops in to say hello. It is a slow evening at the gas station and the two talk about their lives, specifically, their occupations and aspirations. Joey Hey Sanjay. Looks like a slow night. We worked our buts off today. Everybody wants coffee! I don't get it some times. We made ol' Timmy a pile of cash today! Sanjay is hunched over the counter, bopping his head to the music playing on the stereo behind him. Sanjay Yeah, pretty lame here. No ladies cruising by, nothing! I can usually squeeze out a tip or two with my charm and good looks, but no ladies, no payday. JOEY I hear you! There's got to be more to life that Sanjay looks down at the lottery ticket display case on the counter under his elbows. Sanjay What do think the chances are that one of these is a winner. I mean a REAL BIG winner. Wouldn't it be great if you could have some kind of special powers to pick that ticket. Joey lets his backpack drop to the floor and looks at the tickets in the display case. JOEY You know those things are made to earn money for the lottery people. You could spend your whole paycheck on those and still win nothing. There nothing but a really passive form of gambling! I work to hard for my cash to blow it on chances. SANJAY Yeah but just think what you could do with a couple million! If you could pick the winning ticket, which one would you pick? JOEY Forget it Dude, I'm not gambling. SANJAY Just pick man! Which one? Joey notices a red ticket, the last one of it's type, and points to it. JOEY That one's by itself. It's got to be lucky. I pick that one. SANJAY Funny, I would have picked this one in the back. Tell you what big spender, I owe you for that slush so I'm going to buy you that ticket, and I'm going to buy MY lucky ticket. Sanjay buys the tickets and slides the ticket across the counter to Joey. Just then, a car pulls into the station with what appears to be two teenage girls inside. Sanjay straightens up quickly. SANJAY Hey! Lookout! Looks like the evening wont be a total bummer. If you'll excuse me, my fans await. You sticking around or what? JOEY No dude I'm burnt. I'm going to take a shower and hit the hay. Talk to ya tomorrow. Sanjay gives Joey a "salute" as he heads out the door and walks the walk towards the girls car. End Script
